Many people, including myself at times see ourselves as the center of the world. We forget that we live in an environment that we must sustain. Earth is a closed system which means all of our resources are already here for us. For many years people denied climate change, and some still do. As teachers its important to be able to tell the difference between what information is true and what is fabricated. As teachers we have the opportunity to get the ball rolling on making the world a better place by having a positive impact on our students. There are some ways we can effect change in the world to save our planet. We can't make global warming go away, but we can do our best to control it. One way we can do this as teachers is highlighting the importance of recycling to our students. It is essential that we give our students the facts about the situation. If the youth has a positive view of the environment and cares about protecting it they can help create a better future for Earth and the people who inhabit it.
